Religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless is this: To look after orphans and widows

Our Founder

Jesus Christ Children Ministry International (JCCMI) was founded by Martha Kapawolokpala. She was a survivor of the Liberian Civil War which occurred from 1989 to 1996. During this civil war thousands of children lost their parents and love ones and were in need of assistance. The crisis in Liberia further worsens with the outbreak of EBOLA which occurred from 2014 to 2015. The EBOLA outbreak killed thousands, devastating families, and creating more orphan children. Auntie Ma, is the name the children endearingly call Martha, with a determined spirit, established JCCMI in 1999.

Mrs. Fenn has been working with children in the capacity of a care giver, social worker, and community advocate for over 20 years. She currently works as a social worker for a non-profit organization in New Jersey. In the capacity as a social worker, she is responsible for educating parents about pre-natal care in the hope of reducing infant mortality. She is an advocate for her clients when negotiating with medical providers, insurance companies, and other social service agencies. She has a Bachelor of Arts (BSW) in Social Work from Kean University and an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Essex County College. She has been assisting in the care of the children at JCCMI for over 10 years, and has served in the capacity as Chairman of  JCCMI for the last year.

Individuals who care for children must have a passionate heart, positive optimism, and an encouraging spirit. This challenge has not been easy but we thank God for the opportunity to serve, and count it all as Joy.

James 1:2-4 “My Brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trails, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing”.

The Legacy of Martha Kapawolokpala and JCCMI's Ongoing Service to Children in Need

JCCMI has been servicing these children for more than 15 years. The ministry has been the stabilizing force for these children. Providing the children with Housing, Food, Clothing, Education, and Love.

Martha Kapawolokpala, fought a good fight, she finished her course, and kept the faith, (Timothy 4:7-8). On April 10, 2020, God called Martha from Labor to reward. She dedicated her life nurturing and caring for these children with love. In this spirit, her sister Mrs. Comfort Barker Fenn has filled the gap to carry on her legacy.
